Vacuum packs

Extending the shelf life

Packaging under vacuum extends the shelf life of products by removing the natural atmosphere, thereby slowing down the microbial deterioration of the product. The vacuum also fixes the product within the pack, allowing for protection from mechanical effects in the pack. At the same time, the volume of the packaging is reduced.

Application

Vacuum packaging is suitable for all types of food, medical products, as well as industrial and consumer goods.

Benefits

Vacuum packaging can preserve the quality and freshness of food for a longer period of time. In these packs, oxygen is extracted from the pack, preventing the proliferation of oxygen-dependent micro-organisms and reducing the oxidation process. Consumer and industrial goods also receive the benefit of reducing oxidation through the extraction of the original atmosphere. The vacuum also fixes the product in the pack and thereby protects it from mechanical effects in the pack. At the same time, the volume of the packaging is reduced.

Packaging machines and packaging materials

Vacuum packs can be produced by thermoforming packaging machines, traysealers and chamber machines.
